Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC)

Providing the Service

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) have commissioned a service for the provision of free-to-patient emergency hormonal contraception to women aged 13-19 years. You must had an agreement in place with LCC as the commissioner, and have signed (and where appropriate returned) any required documentation, inlcuding the PGD before commencing provision.

If you do not currently provide the service but wish to, please email miguel.duran@lincolnshire.gov.uk. Please not that doing so is not a guarantee of acceptance.

Training

Pharmacists providing the service must ensure that they have completed adequate training. Assessment of this is through a Declaration of Competence; you can find out more about the Declaration of Competence model at www.cppe.ac.uk/services/declaration-of-competence

Pharmacists must also ensure that that have up-to-date safeguarding training in place.

Further details of the training and skills required can be found in the service documents and the PGD.
