Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC)

Updated 16/06/2023

Providing the Service

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) have commissioned a service for the provision of free-to-patient emergency hormonal contraception to women aged 13-19 years. You must have an agreement in place with LCC as the commissioner, and have signed (and where appropriate returned) any required documentation, including the PGD before commencing provision.

If you are interested in signing up for the EHC service, you should contact Sam Crow (sam.crow@lincolnshire.gov.uk), Senior Public Health Office at LCC.

Training

Pharmacists providing the service must ensure that they have completed adequate training. Assessment of this is through a Declaration of Competence; you can find out more about the Declaration of Competence model at www.cppe.ac.uk/services/declaration-of-competence

Pharmacists must also ensure that they have up-to-date and appropriate safeguarding training in place.

Further details of the training and skills required can be found in the service documents and the PGD.
