Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire Highly Commended at Independent Pharmacy Awards 2022

On Friday 30th September 2022, the Chair and Chief Officer of Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire were invited to attend the Independent Pharmacy Awards, as Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire had been shortlisted in the Best Supporting Local Representative Group (LRG) category – this is in reflection of the work we have done in a number of areas including relationship building and community pharmacy representation with the local Integrated Care System, liaising with MPs, promoting community pharmacy to the public and keeping contractors well represented and updated on relevant issues through avenues such as this regular newsletter.
Whilst we did not win the award, we were recognised as highly commended with one judge noting:
“I was very impressed with this LPC…They’ve got good stakeholder engagement with MPs and they’ve made strides getting pharmacies established with local structures”
A champagne reception was followed by an address from Andrew Evans, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for Wales and an address by the host in the House of Commons, Sir Bob Neill MP.
There were winners in 5 categories on the day:
- Best Supporting Local Representative Group
- Pharmacy Team of the Year
- Pharmacy Technician of the Year
- Locum of the Year
- Independent Pharmacist of the Year
The event provided an excellent opportunity to network with other pharmacy professionals and increase visibility of Lincolnshire Community pharmacies.
We send our congratulations to the winners in our category, Community Pharmacy Liverpool. We were able to meet LPC representatives and pharmacy colleagues from other areas, as well as talk in person to our colleagues from Leicestershire and Rutland LPC, who were also recognised as highly commended in the Best Supporting LRG, whom we usually only see in virtual meetings!
