Paul Jenks, BPharm (hons), MSc, MRPharmS, FRSPH.

CCA Representative: Boots. LPC Chair

I qualified as a pharmacist in 1997 and spent the first nine years of of my career developing my skills as a pharmacist manager in Mablethorpe. Since then, I’ve undertaken several different field roles, but my passion is for developing others, so I now work as a learning and development manager at Boots Support Office. I do continue to practice regularly as a patient-facing community pharmacist too, working mainly on the East Coast of the county.

I also work as a local tutor for CPPE in the Yorkshire and Humberside region, and as a CPPE coach and Programme Manager.

I joined the LPC in 2007, and became chair in 2010. I’m passionate about community pharmacy, and  sit on a number of boards and groups, including the Lincolnshire Prescribing and Clinical Effectiveness Forum and the STP Pharmacy and Prescribing Board, and the LPC Rural Working Group, as well as chairing the national Pharmacy Competency Group.

I’m also a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Community Pharmacy Expert Advisory Grope, and former Vice Chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Membership Committee (having completed my maximum two terms or three years in August 2022).

In 2015 I completed my Masters in Community Pharmacy Public Health Services, and am currently one of the course leads for the Cancer module of this programme for the University of Manchester, and in 2018 I completed the NHS Mary Seacole Programme for Community Pharmacy Leadership.

When I do get some spare time, I enjoy spending time at home trying to get through my ever-increasing pile of unread books, listening to music (everything from Vivaldi to Stormzy) and looking after my miniature Dachshund and three snakes.  I love spending time watching films with my wife too, and I am also a keen collector of Lego®.
