Pathways

The service allows for the following services, free of charge, on the NHS:

Service Element Pathways
Initiation of oral contraception (progesterone only and combined pill) PCS-initiation-pathway
Resupply of oral contraception (progesterone only and combine pill) PCS-Ongoing-supply-pathway
Supply of Emergency hormonal contraception  PCS-Oral-EC-pathway

Note regarding Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC):

Where you identify that LARC is the most suitable contraception for the patient they should be referred either to their GP or Greater Lincolnshire Integrated Sexual Health Service (GLISH).

When an IUD/coil is considered necessary/ preferable for emergency contraception patients should be referred to GLISH, as the limited GP practices in the county which offer this service are unlikely to be able to facilitate this within the required timescales.

GLISH contact details can be found here: https://www.greaterlincolnshiresexualhealth.nhs.uk/

Additional Support
